Can a child have too much fiber?

Fiber is virtually indigestible and passes through the human digestive system unchanged. However, a rapid increase in fiber intake may cause abdominal discomfort. In order to avoid symptoms caused by too much fiber, build up your child's fiber intake gradually and make sure your child drinks plenty of water. If minor gas or bloating occurs, reduce the daily serving.
